If you intend to run laser cleaning as a service, hire is not a step you need to take first. Buying a machine is a direct process: tell us the work, we recommend the model, quote it, and it arrives with training.
Every hire comes with hands-on training, safety documentation, and UK technical support for the duration of your agreement. We supply the machine, the training and the documentation. The site controls, insurance and the work itself stay with you.
Hire terms start at one week and run to rolling monthly agreements. Training is delivered at handover, so the person using it has run it before the first job starts. Delivery and collection are arranged and quoted separately. At the end of your hire period you can return it or extend, and if you decide you want to own one, we quote a purchase from there. How much does it cost to hire a laser cleaning machine from LaserStrip? +
Hire rates depend on duration and location. One week is the minimum hire term, and dates are subject to availability. Weekly and monthly rates are available, quoted for your term and location. Delivery to your site, return collection and setup/handover time are charged separately from the hire rate. Do I need laser training to hire the machine? +
Yes and we provide it as part of every hire. A pulsed fibre laser is a Class 4 laser, and using one at work falls under the Control of Artificial Optical Radiation at Work Regulations 2010, so the person operating it must be trained and the work controlled. Our on-site briefing covers safe operation, parameter settings for different surfaces, PPE requirements, and the key points of UK laser safety legislation. You'll leave the briefing ready to operate the machine. Meeting your own duties under UK laser safety legislation, including risk assessment, RAMS and site controls, remains your responsibility as the operator.
Do I need to hire before I can buy a machine? +
No. Buying is a direct process: tell us the work, we recommend the machine, send a written quotation, and the machine is delivered with training. Hire is for a defined project, a contract with an end date or a short-term capacity gap. If a hire customer later decides to buy, hire-to-buy terms may be agreed at the point of enquiry, but nobody needs to hire, test or see a demonstration first. Buy your laser cleaning machine.
Do you deliver the machine to me, or do I need to collect from Leeds? +
We deliver to you, anywhere in the UK. Our team will bring the machine to your site or workshop, run your training session on-site, and collect at the end of the hire period. You never need to travel to Leeds.
What surfaces can I clean during my hire period? +
A pulsed fibre laser machine handles all seven LaserStrip service categories: kitchen door and cabinet stripping, graffiti removal (brick, stone, metal), heritage stone cleaning (with a method that can be aligned with BS 8221-1:2012), Victorian sandstone restoration, oak beam and timber stripping, rust and paint removal from metal, and automotive body panel prep. Your training session covers the specific laser parameters for each surface type, so you can work across all seven during your hire period.
What happens if the machine develops a fault during my hire? +
Every hire includes UK technical support for the duration of your agreement. If you experience any issue with the machine, call our support line and we'll diagnose remotely or attend on-site if required. If a significant fault stops the machine, we arrange a replacement or credit the affected period of your hire.
All machine prices shown exclude VAT, freight, import charges and UK mainland delivery, which are quoted at the point of purchase. Hire rates are quoted on enquiry; delivery, collection and handover are charged separately from the hire rate.
Standards and guidance
What You Take On When the Machine Arrives
A hired FLT-P is a Class 4 laser, and using one at work puts you inside the Control of Artificial Optical Radiation at Work Regulations 2010 for the duration of the hire. HSE guidance on non-ionising radiation covers exposure limits and controls; HSE guidance on PPE at work covers the eye protection, which is specified to the wavelength and supplied with every hire. Extraction sits under local exhaust ventilation. We deliver the machine, train your operator at handover and keep the support line open, but the risk assessment, RAMS, site controls and insurance for the work you do with it are yours, not ours.
