Laser Cleaners for Sale in the UK
A laser cleaner, laser cleaning machine and laser blaster are the same kind of machine sold under different names. Every LaserStrip machine is the same type: a pulsed fibre laser with a handheld cleaning gun on a mobile, air-cooled unit.
Pulsed laser cleaning machines
All six are pulsed fibre (MOPA) lasers at 1064nm. A pulsed laser delivers its energy in short, high-peak pulses rather than a constant beam, which is what lets it lift a coating while keeping heat in the substrate low. It is a different machine from a continuous-wave laser cleaner.
Handheld laser cleaners
Every model is operated through a 1.3 kg handheld cleaning gun on a fibre cable, so the operator works the beam across the surface by hand, on site or at a bench.
Portable laser cleaning machines
The unit is air-cooled and self-contained, so it needs no chiller or water supply, and it travels in a van to the job. The 200W is the smallest and lightest; the 500W laser cleaning machine is our main commercial model.

Pulsed fibre laser machines from LaserStrip start from £6,650 for the LaserStrip 200W, rising through the 300W (from £7,800), 500W (from £16,900), 1000W (from £30,900), 1500W (from £51,300) and 2000W (from £73,400). Prices are in GBP and exclude international freight, import charges, customs clearance and UK mainland delivery, which are quoted in real time at the point of purchase. Which laser machine model should I choose?+
We supply six pulsed fibre lasers. The 200W is the entry point for precision and bench-sized work. The 300W is the control-led machine for joinery, heritage detail and lighter mixed work. The 500W is our main commercial machine, the one we recommend for most businesses selling laser cleaning, with the productive capacity for larger contracts and surface-preparation work. The 1000W, 1500W and 2000W are for large-area industrial, marine and infrastructure workloads. All are air cooled and mobile ready. The 200W, 300W and 500W run from a standard single-phase supply; for the 1000W and above, the supply and input rating are confirmed on your quotation. What can I clean, and how many services can I offer?+
A pulsed fibre laser unlocks seven revenue streams: kitchen door stripping, graffiti removal, heritage stone cleaning, Victorian sandstone restoration, oak beam and timber stripping, rust and paint removal, and automotive surface preparation. You can read about each one on our laser cleaning services page. Emergency same day graffiti work is the premium end of that list, and operators price it accordingly.
Can a laser cleaning machine be used instead of sanding?+
Yes. Laser cleaning strips paint, varnish and coatings from wood, metal and stone without abrasive sanding, discs or dust. Operators use it as a surface preparation step before automotive refinishing and timber restoration, where hand sanding would be slow or would cut into the substrate. It is not a sander in the literal sense: nothing touches the surface, so there is no abrasion and no consumables to replace.
Do I need prior experience to operate the machine?+
No. Every purchase includes hands-on operational training at handover: laser safety, set-up and the parameters for your surfaces. It is initial operational training, not an external qualification. Training is delivered at handover by people who configure and support these machines.
Where do you deliver, and do you cover my area?+
We deliver nationwide and cover the whole of Yorkshire as standard, including every town listed on our Yorkshire areas page. Training and handover are included with delivery, so you do not need to travel to Leeds to buy or to be trained.
Do I need to hire or see a demonstration before I buy?+
Buy. If you are going to trade laser cleaning, buy directly: you do not need to hire, test or see a demonstration first: tell us the work, we recommend the machine, quote it and deliver it with training. Hire is for a defined project or a short-term capacity gap, not a step before buying.
Before you enquire
When We Would Tell You Not to Buy One
We would rather lose the sale here than on your third job. These are the situations where we either say no, or tell you to spend the money on something else. If one of them is you, it costs you two minutes now instead of £16,900 and a year finding out.
Your coating spec calls for a blast profile
If the datasheet requires a particular anchor pattern or Rz value achieved by abrasive blasting, a laser does not produce that. It cleans; it does not roughen to a specified profile. Read the coating datasheet before you assume it replaces the blast stage.
Your work is large, open, flat plate
Blasting is faster over big open areas and is likely to stay faster. A laser earns its place where containment, access, selectivity or clean-up is the real cost, not where raw square metres is the only number that matters.
The substrate is render, plasterboard, MDF or plastic
On render and plaster the coating and the substrate absorb too similarly for a safe working window. MDF scorches at settings the paint has barely noticed. Most plastics melt before the coating leaves. These are the wrong jobs for this tool.
The steel is heavily pitted
Light clears the surface and the mouth of a pit but cannot reach deep inside one. On badly pitted sections you will still need a mechanical pass afterwards. If that describes most of your work, the laser is not removing the step you wanted removed.
You are expecting us to supply the work
We sell and hire machines. We do not subcontract cleaning work out to buyers and we do not have a pipeline of jobs to hand over. Business Launch is marketing and support bought separately, and it does not guarantee work, revenue or business success. If you need a diary filled on day one, say so before you buy, not after.
You cannot take on the safety duties
This is a Class 4 laser. Risk assessments, RAMS, site controls, competent operation, insurance and health and safety duties stay with you as the operator. We supply training, documentation and wavelength-specified eye protection. We do not become your safety department, and our training is not an external qualification.
You are a sole trader wanting to finance under £25,000
A credit agreement above £25,000 made wholly or predominantly for business purposes is exempt under section 16B of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Below that line a sole trader is treated as an individual, and this lender panel does not write regulated consumer credit. A limited company has no floor. Better to know now than after a declined application.
You want a demonstration before you will talk numbers
We sell by application, recommendation and written quotation, by phone and email, and the machine arrives with training. We do not run a demonstration circuit, and hire starts at a one-week minimum. Demonstrations and sample trials are reserved for large industrial and infrastructure applications where the specification genuinely warrants them.
None of that means the machine is fragile or narrow. It means the working window is real, and the people who do best with one are the people who knew where its edges were before they bought. If none of the above rules you out, tell us the job and we will tell you honestly where a laser sits in it.
Standards and guidance
The Rules This Work Sits Under
Every machine we sell is a Class 4 laser, and operating one at work in the UK falls under the Control of Artificial Optical Radiation at Work Regulations 2010. HSE guidance on non-ionising radiation sets out exposure limits and the controls expected of an employer. Ablation lifts coating into the air, so local exhaust ventilation applies to extraction, and where you are removing old lead paint or industrial coatings the residue is a controlled waste under COSHH. Every machine ships with initial operational training, safety documentation and eye protection specified to the wavelength. Writing the risk assessment and RAMS for your own jobs, and holding the right insurance, stays with you as the operator.
